Whether you’ve painted in watercolor or you’re a total newbie, I’ve got you covered! Join me for an experience of a lifetime, as we paint, sketch, stitch and enjoy the glories of La Pine, Oregon.
We’ll eat fabulous food, enjoy s’mores by fire pit, sip cocktails or mocktails, laugh til our
stomachs hurt, make new friends and throw art into the mix with a wildly chill and goofy art teacher! Let me show you how to sketch loosely and paint with abandon in a gorgeous one-of-a-kind journal that we’ll make together. You need ZERO experience to come to this event; this retreat is all about giving yourself a recharge and the freedom to explore new mediums and places. I guarantee you, you won’t regret it!

Basic leather and book binding (pamphlet stitch and saddle stitch)
Cutting and scoring “signatures” (ie leaflets of watercolor paper or cardstock to bind into
our journals)

1. Paper trimmer (bonus if it has a scorer as well)
2. Bone Folder
3. Watercolor Paper (one full pad of cold press watercolor paper 9x12) – roughly 20 to
30pgs
4. Glue Stick
5. Waterbrush
6. Awl (a sturdy one, not a craft grade please)
7. Ruler (I love the clear Tim Holtz ruler, but any ruler will do)
8. Fine Tip Sharpie (black)

What to expect:
Plan on grabbing your breakfast in the mornings before class. We will have snack and beverages to keep you going during the day. Of course feel free to bring some to share! We will have lunches provided during class time.
We can group up for dinner if wanted, or take a break and get some alone time.
Expect a BBQ Saturday night and some beverages! Guests welcome.


Yes, this is an art retreat but if you have a loved one who loves nature - consider bringing them! We can help you set up guided fishing trips, possibly spring skiing and give you directions to our favorite lakeside retreat Elk Lake! Think fly fishing, renting motorcycles, spring skiing, or a brewery tour! You know Central Oregon loves its craft beer!
We are limited to 20 tickets. The ticket price is for instruction and some supplies, guests are welcome to come to events that do not include supplies and “working artist time.” (Bring your travel companion for cobbler and firepit time!)
We will have a light start Thursday evening, so get here when you can, and we will be wrapped up by noon on Sunday.

What to pack:
Bring your play clothes and a couple of fun outfits. May is not “summer” in La Pine. Of course, we will have weather updates as it gets closer! But plan for a jacket and hiking shoes. We have plenty of easily walkable areas for great pics - so there will be enough options for every adventure level! We are not climbing to mountain tops or wading into water (well, you can, and bonus points if you do!) But don’t worry, You will choose your adventure!
We will be gathering photographs, building art journals, and learning to paint! So be comfortable, think camping with loads of talent and fun and a bit of boujee!

- Our mornings are brisk -so layer soo you can be comfortable at all times !

If you bring your iPhone - you will be given instructions on creating portrait setting photos that make the ideal content for painting.
Meandering Maker is an art studio nestled on 1.25 acres that backs the national forest. If you have a camping chair handy, bring it! We want to hear all your stories next to the campfire roasting a marshmallow.

Lexi Grenzer Bio:
About The Artist

Lexi is a self-trained mixed media artist located in Northern California. Her early work began in mixed media and jewelry design. Lexi's artwork has been featured in the pages of Somerset publications, including Green Craft and Art Doll.
Lexi's art focus is largely nature-inspired, and it's no surprise that birds are so frequently featured in her work - they are her favorite, after all.
Lexi is a licensed designer for ESC & Company, Iron Orchid Designs (IOD), Roycycled Treasures, and Clothworks.
Meandering Maker is a Creative Art Studio for Paint n SIp events in Central Oregon and a working Artist Studio. We focus on fun craft projects using IOD, Roycycled Decopauge Papers, Wise Owl Paint, Debbi's DIY paint and customized home decor.
